Unfortunately, Airport Utility 6.0 doesn’t support pre-2007 models, that is; 802.11g-only devices. As we already know, iCloud support requires the new release, running on OSX Lion and if you’re still clinging onto your MobileMe account, we’ve got more bad news — this won’t work with the new software either. Fortunately, you’ll still be able to configure (firmware-updated) older models with previous AirPort Utility versions. TidBITS has gone into fine detail on compatibility changes, so be sure to check the source if there’s any niggling doubts.

And here you thought Microsoft bringing Windows 8 to ARM was big news. Turns out, a member of the xda-developers forum has managed to make an APK that puts a variety of Redmond’s x86 operating systems on the HTC EVO 3D and its 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon silicon — Windows 95, 98, XP and even your favorite flavor of Linux are all available for the three dee-equipped handset. All you need to do is install the Bochs Pentium emulator APK and the OS disk image of your choice, modify a couple files, and you’ll be doing yesteryear’s desktop computing on a handheld in no time. Feeling nostalgic? Detailed instructions how to do it yourself and the necessary files can be found at the source link below, but all we want to know is: does it do the blue screen of death or the force close dance when things go awry?

When Microsoft confirmed Windows Phone “Tango” back in August, it emphasized its focus on developing country markets that other heavyweight manufacturers tend to neglect. Today, new details have emerged to corroborate these claims about Redmond’s forthcoming update, which will reportedly support a wider range of languages than its Mango-flavored predecessor. As WP Sauce reports, a Microsoft representative confirmed the news at a developer event in India today, telling attendees that Tango will support a full 120 languages, compared to the 35 tongues that Mango currently support. (iOS, by comparison, supports 34 languages, while Android boasts 55.) One of the speakers also reportedly confirmed that Windows Phone would add support for C++ native coding, though it remains unclear whether that will apply to Tango, or Windows Phone 8 (codenamed “Apollo”). We’ll have to wait and see whether or not any of this actually comes to fruition, though it’s worth noting that WP Sauce has since pulled its report on today’s news, apparently at the request of Microsoft.

Rocketboost, that “breakthrough wireless audio technology” from Best Buy, just got a feature boost in the form of a new Control App. Owners of the company’s Rocketfish and Insignia speakers and soundbars should be jumping for joy — assuming they still have energy after completing all the steps necessary to start beaming wireless tunes. First up on the shopping list is the “Rocketboost Wireless Receiver / Transmitter,” which you can pick up from your neighborhood Best Buy for a measly 65 bucks. Once you’ve got your hands on that hideous black box, you’ll have to plug it in via USB to your Windows machine (yup, no Macs) and install another Rocketboost must-have, dubbed “Control Computer Software.” Finally, one of the last steps towards your Airplay-like quest is to hit up the iOS App Store (no Android for now) and snatch the Control App, which should be running in sync with the one on your PC. Your camera wants to take flight — trust us, it does — and an ambitious new project aims to make your DSLR’s aeronautic ambitions a reality. The eye3 hexacopter is a six-armed carbon-fiber unmanned arial vehicle (UAV) that hopes to make aerial photography accessible to the masses. Designed by a couple with a hankering for robotics, the flying machine is modular (for easy repair) and navigates using a combination of Google Maps and open-source code. Those without a pilot license need not worry: the eye3 utilizes the oft-improving APM2 software for a “compact yet powerful” autopilot experience. The UAV can carry a payload of five to ten pounds, boasts three CPUs and has a 350-watt motor strapped to each tentacle. Fly past the break to watch a video from eye3′s creators… get to the choppa’!
