No telling if we North Americans will ever see this thing without the help of a dutiful importer, but if nothing else, it’s fun to gawk at. Shown off in Korea at KES 2008, LG’s 12.1-inch S-210 was said to be packing a 2.43GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of RAM, eSATA / USB ports, VGA out, Ethernet, an NVIDIA graphics set, audio in / out, HDMI and Windows Vista. Pricing and release information wasn’t even available for folks in Seoul, but we’ll try extra hard not to forget about this completely forgettable machine amidst all the other metoos in the crowd.

Browser bakeoffs are never without a certain amount of controversy, but we’re sort of into Pocketable’s latest comparison since the three devices on the bench represent three very different points on the spectrum of touchscreen devices. Having used all three, we’ll say upfront that the results are surprising: the Archos 5 smokes both the iPhone and the N810, and not always by small margins — the 5 loaded Engadget 18 seconds faster than the N810. (We did the same test with our 5 and iPhone 3G and the results were basically the same.) Now, that’s not to say that makes the 5′s Opera-powered browser the best or even the most useable, since in our experience scrolling is painfully choppy and hard to do with the resistive touchscreen, but it’s interesting that the hotrodded PMP managed to load pages consistently faster than either the smartphone or the Linux-powered tablet. It’s one thing to witness an HDTV under the watchful eye of the company that made it, but it’s an entirely different experience to get out on your own, with your own hand-picked sources, your own food stash and the freedom to really speak your mind. From what we’ve seen under Mitsu’s own conditions, the 65-inch LaserVue is truly a sight to behold, and even when the gurus over at TheTechLounge managed to see this thing in their own element, they were equally amazed. They wouldn’t go so far as to call it the best HDTV ever, but even when compared side-by-side with Pioneer’s heralded PRO-151FD KURO plasma, they found the laser-packed set to be superior in a few instances. The test subjects underwent a few grueling hours of Iron Man and Ice Age: Meltdown on Blu-ray, and at the end of the night, critics didn’t hesitate to recommend the set for anyone with loads of cash.

Just under a year ago, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin announced his hopes that one day he could pinpoint the location of his black Labrador, Koni, at any time of the day. Today, a dream has been realized. Mr. Putin has finally procured a satellite collar that will enable him to track the lab regardless of which of the eleven times zones she may be in while waltzing through Russia. Once the collar was slipped on, Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov immediately said “she looks sad, her free life is over.” Putin didn’t miss a beat when snapping back: “In Soviet Russia, GLONASS track you!”

No, this ain’t a Craigslist ad, this is just a bomb-diggity home server set to officially be released by Tranquil PC tomorrow. The SQA-5H is a cube-shaped server with five hot-swappable drive bays, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 330 processor and 1GB of RAM (2GB maximum). Additionally, it touts a Quick System Backup for piping your stored data onto an external HDD, a “Mode” button for quick capacity checks and an optional SQA-EX slave unit which provides five additional drive bays connected with a single cable. Expect to find pricing details within 24 hours on the November-bound device.
