Remember Kerbango? In the early months of the decade, 3Com’s foray (via acquisition) into the then-nonexistent world of tabletop internet radios crashed and burned before it was ever even launched, a classic example of an arguably visionary product launching well, well ahead of its time. Over seven years have passed since the Kerbango Radio’s untimely death, but for whatever reason, the concept really hasn’t re-emerged on a grand scale. On the surface, it seems like a no-brainer: everyone has an alarm clock, many have bedside or kitchen radios, WiFi has since emerged as a ubiquitous cloud of high-speed data, and more people are listening to streamed audio than ever before — yet the market for these devices is still treated like a niche. What gives?

Look, we know there’s some kind of good explanation for these things existing, but Apple, don’t you think it’s a little weird how they keep cropping up in stores even though you never, ever mentioned them? That’s right, those 4GB iPod nano 4Gs we saw at Dutch retailers last week have now made their way onto Best Buy’s Canadian website. Over in North America, the players will apparently sell for $139, and will be available tomorrow… or so they say.

We’ve only one thing to say here: it’s about time! Dell’s Studio Hybrid has been shuffling around for well over a month, and we’re just now seeing someone with the nerve to take a putty knife to this cute ‘lil desktop and photograph its innards for all to see. As expected, there ain’t much breathing room in the 7.7- x 2.8- x 8.3-inch box, but there’s a smattering of pictures and a full disassembly video waiting in the read link below. Go on and look, sicko.

Espoo’s usually a pretty cold place, but HTC’s S740 has to feel the heat coming off Nokia headquarters now that the purported E75 slider has been spotted in its natural habitat. We don’t have a ton of information about this thing, but considering the length of time that transpired between the E71′s first spy shot and its release, we do know that we could still be in for a bit of a wait before this thing is announced, much less retailed. If Nokia manages to keep the thickness in check, we’re thinking this could be a fantastic form factor for S60, Eseries or otherwise — and since the phone borrows heavily from the ID of the beautiful E71, we’re optimistic it’s going to be a looker. Let’s just get it out the door in a reasonable amount of time, alright?

Remember that Linux-infused H9 UMPC we spotted last year? Have a look at its proper successor, the Porient H12. The handheld packs a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 resolution display, a 520MHz Intel XScale PXA270 CPU, 2GB of flash storage, an SD / MMC card slot, 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS and DAB / DVB-H / DVB-T tuners. The 10.6-ounce device also features a web browser, RSS reader, multimedia player, PDF viewer and an undisclosed office suite to boot. Pricing has yet to be announced for individual units, though these are available now if you’re down with importing vast quantities. And you aren’t, so that’s that.
