New York City Trip – Update

Here’s an update on our New York City trip next month.

Fortunately Erin and I were able to secure longer babysitting for our kids, so we’ll be staying in NYC for a full week.  We’ll be arriving Sun, Oct 14 and leaving Sun, Oct 21.  We’ve already booked our flight, but we’re still shopping for a hotel.  Some people assumed we were taking the kids with us, but it will just be the two of us.

The most likely day for a group meet-up will be Sat, Oct 20, since that will be our only full weekend day there.  I think a weekend meet-up is best, so we can accommodate most of those crazy job-wielding folk.  Of all the suggestions I received for meet-up locations, my current preference is to meet somewhere in Central Park, weather permitting.  Meeting at a restaurant or other fixed seating location could be too stifling, making it hard to get a chance to talk to everyone if a lot of people show up.  Meeting in the park is also free, making it accessible to anyone, and we should be able to hang out as long as we want.  Maybe everyone can bring a lunch for themselves, and we’ll have one giant picnic.

Our Vegas meet-up had about a dozen people, and that was for a conference, so it wouldn’t surprise me if we had a lot more people show up in NYC.  About a dozen people have already expressed interest, but that was before we even knew the trip dates.  At least if we meet in the park, we won’t need an accurate head count, and people can come and go as they please.

If you happen to know a good meeting spot in Central Park that would work for as many as a few dozen people, please let me know, or reply in the forums.  Maybe we can even go there in advance and post a photo of the exact location.

Average NYC highs in October are in the mid-60s, so hopefully the weather will be nice.  If you’re into the Law of Attraction, be sure to put out the intention that Oct 20th is a beautiful, clear day in NYC.  :)

I’d like to keep this very casual and fun.  If a ton of people show up though, maybe Erin and I will do some group Q&A on anything people want to ask.

Please let me know if you’re interested in an Oct 20 meet-up around lunch time, so I can get a rough head count.  You might even make some new growth-oriented friends.  And of course you won’t want to miss the airing of grievances and the feats of strength.  :)

I’ll post further details as they become available.
